Funding

The Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust Account was created with a Legislative allocation of $15 million in 2005, and is anticipated to grow to $200 million over time. In 2006, the Legislature added $25 million to the corpus of the trust account, bringing the total to $40 million.

Funds will be released anytime contributions total $5000 or more. This adds the potential for an additional $6 million in the account, if matching funds are contributed in the next two years. The Wyoming Wildlife Federation made an initial contribution of $1,000 in March to begin this process.

The Trust Account will generate approximately $600,000 in July 2006. The Wyoming Legislature allocated an additional $1.5 million to fund on-the-ground projects throughout the state.
